- 1 tbsp purple food coloring (gel)
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
Frosting
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, and purple food coloring.
